The application of the previously mentioned ideas is what determines the skill of a poker player and is manifested in the actions a player takes when it is his turn to act.  Knowing when bet or raise is how a skilled player maximizes his winnings.  Also, knowing how to fold at the correct time can save a player lots of money.  As the adage goes, “Money that isn't lost is the same as money that is won.”  Making the correct decisions in any given situation requires careful study of the odds involved in the game as well as experience at the tables.

 Despite the difficulty of initially learning Texas Hold 'Em, the process is its own reward as a player will get much more enjoyment from the game as well as maybe earn some money at the same time.
